Rent reference index

The rent reference index (IRL) is used to review a rent when the lease says so. The usual sum is: current rent times the new index, divided by the same quarter's index written in the lease (often last year's).

Fleuris shows the current index taken from Insee. The old index is the one in your lease, or the Insee series. Without that clause, the rent stays as it is.

  1. Check that the lease allows a review based on the IRL.
  2. Note the index written in the lease, and the current rent.
  3. Use the calculation below with the current index shown on the page.

Questions

Can I raise the rent with this figure alone?

No. You need the lease clause and the starting index. The result is a rough figure, not legal advice.

Which index should I enter?

The one written in the lease for the reference quarter, not the new index. The new index is already shown above the calculation.
