From 1 November 2026 to 31 March 2027, evictions and gas or electricity cut-offs are suspended. The debt remains due.

The deposit
For an unfurnished home, it is at most one month of rent excluding charges. It comes back within a month if the check-out inventory matches the check-in, otherwise within two months.

Visale guarantee
Visale is a free guarantee from Action Logement. It is open to people under 30 and, since 6 January 2026, to private-sector employees over 30 whose net income is at most €1,710 a month.

Unpaid rent
At the first missed payment, contact the landlord and the ADIL. Housing benefit can be kept when a repayment plan is honoured.

Who to call
CAF or MSA, the housing solidarity fund, and the town hall's social-action centre. For an energy bill, the national energy ombudsman can be asked if the disagreement remains.
